Hennessy - Good Vibes feat. YDMC

We shot this video a few months back before Hennessy's initial debut release, "Hennessy & The Beat Machine." The video features YDMC of RDV Records, and dancers/choreographers Dan Bui (Pop Kulture) & Hamed Omari (Pop Kulture, Tik Tak Tix). The video has since been recieving a lot of attention/positive feedback while it circulates the internet. Hennessy, a relatively new addition to the local San Jose hip-hop scene, was able to make quite the impression with this one. A special thanks goes out to Jeff at ON THE CORNER MUSIC in Campbell, CA for allowing us to shoot at their location. Check them out for all your vinyl needs; They've got an awesome selection, and they rotate their inventory often. Can't tell you how many times I've found hidden gem's there, for cheap!

Matty Slims - "I'm Chillin" feat. Azim Alhark

We like to think the underground hip-hop community in San Jose has welcomed us with open arms and we'd like to thank those that we've met within it so far for being, for the most part, considerably humble. When we first met Matty (Matty Slims, Sharks In A Three Peace Suit) we went back and forth talking about doing a video. The idea was up in the air for a while until a few months later, we finally revived the project and got to shooting. Matty had just made his move to San Francisco and we came to the conclusion that his new rooftop offered a fitting backdrop for a song off one his latest realeases 'C'MON' titled, "I'm Chillin," featuring Azim Alhark (Sharkstyliens, Sharks In A Three Peace Suit, Tequila Allahustle, Anya & The Get Down). The video, yet simple, offers an eye catching refinment of the song at hand. With Matty's laid-back style and Azim's most confident delivery, it was easy to see the potential of the video. Without further Adieu, the music video for Matty Slims feat. Azim Alhark - I'm Chillin.

Natural FX - Passion

Our endeavor into music videos has allowed us to get in and personal with the artists that are pushing for the advancement of the San Jose underground music scene. Beggining with hip hop/alternative infused band Natural FX, we will continue to work with more up-and-coming artists in the south bay, and it's with great hope that we can do our part in helping put San Jose artists on the map.

Julie Parks Does Hair

Filmblock Productions was recently invited to a portfolio building event by a good friend in the Evergreen area of San Jose. Hosted by Julie Parks of Julie Parks Does Hair, the event allowed those within Julie's network to get together and showcase their crafts under one roof. As the event was a success, I was able to walk away with a pretty amazing portfolio piece which focused on Julies hairstyling capabilities, and her venture as an independent business owner. Check it out!

Yokanaan Martins: The Capitola Juggler

We recently had the opportunity to spend the day with and interview Yokanaan Martins, a Brazilian native who now resides in Capitola, California. Every now and then you can find him on the towns beaches, where he continues to juggle his soccer ball for the love he has for it, and the theraputic exercise it has to offer.

stencils: a look into the artwork of Elijah Jennett

It's been a long time since I've updated the blog. School has been a downfall for me my entire life, and learning to juggle it with my personal and work life has been more than a journey. With a new update to my arsenal of tools, I have endevored into the world of interview/documentary work. Here is a short we've concocted shocasing the previous work, as well as the everyday workflow of local artist Elijah Jennett. We are very proud to bring to you this 5-6 minute short, and hope you enjoy every minute of it!
